Wang Zhen (inventor)
Wang Zhen (, 1290–1333) was a Chinese mechanical engineer, agronomist, inventor, writer, and politician of the Yuan dynasty (1271–1368). He was one of the early innovators of the wooden movable type printing technology. His illustrated agricultural treatise was also one of the most advanced of its day, covering a wide range of equipment and technologies available in the late 13th and early 14th century. Life and works Wang Zhen was born in Shandong province, and spent many years as an official of both Anhui and Jiangxi provinces.Needham, Volume 6, Part 2, 59. Wang Zhen (; 1867–1938),''Encyclopedia of Chinese Artists'' (Zhongguo meishu jia renming cidian) on p. 131 commonly known by his courtesy name Wang Yiting (), was a prominent businessman and celebrated modern Chinese artist of the Shanghai School. He also used the art name ''Bailong shanren'' and as a devote Buddhist under other names. He was originally from Wuxing in Zhejiang Province, although spent most of his life in the city of Shanghai where he was a successful businessman-banker. Wang Zhen (April 11, 1908 – March 12, 1993) was a Chinese political figure and one of the Eight Elders of the Chinese Communist Party. He was the 4th Vice President of China and served under Chinese Presidents Yang Shangkun and Li Xiannian. Wang Zhen was the first Vice Chairman to serve in the Central Advisory Commission, under Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping. Early career Born in 1908, his first job aged 16 was as an labor in a railway station office, but he was dismissed after slapping a foreign woman, the wife of a foreign manager of the railroad. Eugene Wang (born Wang Zhen 王臻 on November 13, 1985 in Shijiazhuang) is a Canadian table tennis player. He was given permission to compete for Canada in June 2012, allowing him to represent Canada at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the men's team event. He trains in Saarbruken, Germany. In June 2016, he was officially named to Canada's 2016 Olympic team. Wang competed in the 2019 Butterfly Canadian National Championships in both Men's Singles & Men's Doubles, pairing with 2018 Champion Jeremy Hazin.
